Lisa Best

Licensed Esthetician

Lisa Best is a native Rustonite: Her favorite childhood memory is when her papaw took her to buy her very first pair of grown-up high heels at Estes shoe store in downtown Ruston for a sweetheart dance. She has worked in aesthetics in various capacities since 1984. While studying speech pathology at Louisiana Tech University, she realized that her heart belonged elsewhere. She began working with her uncle at GC & Co. in Hodge, LA as a runway makeup artist. This allowed her to travel to various countries around the world, including Italy, Israel, and Paris, for advanced training with Guinot. Those experiences led her to her true passion: "Pampering clients," Lisa explains, "is my favorite part of aesthetics. In today's busy world, people are so rushed and self-care often gets put on the back-burner. I love being able to help clients slow down and treat themselves. It is important for both mental and physical wellbeing."

Since then, Lisa has always been a pioneer in skincare. In the 1990s, she was the first to bring Ahava, a Dead Sea skincare line, to the United States from Israel. She invested in advanced training and certification with Obagi Skin Care, microdermabrasion, dermaplaning, intense pulsed light (IPL), and chemical peels. Over the years, she has researched and perfected her acne treatment techniques, ultimately leading her to adopt the Face Reality Acne Program with great success. She attends the International Congress of Esthetics and Spa conference in Dallas, Texas annually to ensure she stays up to date on current trends. "I love the science behind skincare treatments and understanding exactly how products work and impact the skin."

As a certified medical aesthetician, Lisa is able to perform more complex procedures, such as deep chemical peels and Lamprobe. Lisa is also one of the few aestheticians in the area that provides waxing services to male clients. In fact, she was the recipient of the Bayou Buzz award for best waxing in 2017.

Lisa's family is her pride and joy, especially her grandchildren, and she is always trying to find something new todo with them. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and giving back to her community. She is an elected official on the Lincoln Parish School Board and the treasurer for the Louisiana branch of the International Dyslexia Association.

Lisa maintains longstanding relationships with her clients. In fact, several of her clients have faithfully used her services for over 30 years. Her talents and phenomenal customer service are recognized throughout the region.
